Narada Case 'Do you deny that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was sitting on a dharna in front of the CBI office? The court asked; 'Demonstrations were held democratically, Senior Advocate AM Singhvi

208. Senior advocate in the Calcutta High Court, AM Singhvi said today (Wednesday) that a sit-in protest led by CM Mamata Banerjee outside the CBI office against the arrest of four TMC leaders on Monday in the Narada scam case was a democratic way of protest.

Senior advocate AM Singhvi alleged that the arrests were made in an illegal manner and people have the right to protest against such illegal actions of the central agency.

"If an arrest is made unlawfully it has the right to protest ७ against it unless the legitimate actions of the agency are prohibited."

Advocate Singhvi further said that there is public outrage against such illegal arrests and it is right to express resentment.

Advocate Singhvi said that 'the special court has not expressed any special difficulty. The Special Judge has not given a highly influential suggestion.

Advocate Singhvi asserted that the special CBI judge heard the case judiciously and that the protest was not connected to the judicial order that was passed after the hearing and filing of the reasons.

Advocate Singhvi submitted that it is for investigation that if the six judge was not able to hear the case or argue the lawyers

There was no mention of any such obstruction in the hearing. Order given in the case on the consent of both the parties

Was heard in virtual mode.

A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Arijit Banerjee of the Calcutta High Court was hearing a bail plea in the CBI case against TMC leaders Firhad Hakim Madan Mitra Subrata Mukherjee and Sauvan Chatterjee in the Narada scam case.

The TMC leaders had filed a reconsideration petition against the order passed by the High Court on 17 Muay, withholding the bail granted to the TMC leader by a special CBI court. The court said that it is necessary to appear before the court after the arrest of political leaders. If this does not happen, then people like this will lose their faith in the justice system.
